The Sunset On The Beach I have a completely strange feeling while the sun is disappearing in the evenings when I am sitting on the beach. I actually like all the evenings which the sky does not have any clouds, and the sun setting is visible. I love being alone, setting in a quiet corner of the beach, watching the sun in far horizons. Some of my friends say watching the sun does not make any sense to them, and it wasting time, but still I like it very much. There are many things that can give me an enjoyable feeling and comfort me, but seeing the sunset in a beach is the best unknown feeling which is unchangeable with any thing else. The best time to think and enjoy for me is while the sun is setting and I ma in the beach. There are many other people who spend their time seeing the setting of the sun because there is a special kind of feeling in it. But I always try to use my minimum time seeing the sun in a corner of beach which belongs to me. And for me, if I have time and it is possible for me to go seeing the sun is completely different. I like going to see that beautiful sense alone, even I don not want my best friends be with me. If I go there, I will set in a corner of the beach, hands under the chin, and will be looking the sun which is disappearing. When watching that lovely sense I have the feeling which is completely strange and unknown for me; beside, there a great deal of speech that the sun tells me—the speech that is new and I have never heard it before. Listening to the sun, I sometimes don not know what to do. To cry without any voice, or just listen to the silence of the sunset. The sunset which gives sadness to me and makes me so depressed or happy. Sometimes I think sunset is the symbolic of my sprit; it has a near relationship to my insight. There would be something in common between the sunset and my sprit. Anyway I won't get tired of seeing the sunset, and enjoying its great unknown feeling. Although I try to experience the other kinds of experiences or feeling, like going seaside, walking in jangles, going picnic, or event studying the books, I am sure setting on beach and watching the sunset in a quiet place is something completely different—a beach and its sunsets which are now part of my life with a great deal of strange enjoyment.

I was very entranced by your words, your compelling description of the sunset and its influence on you. I do not believe it is a waste of time to watch the sunset, to take time to really experience the world around us. Walt Whitman, a great American poet of the 19th century, was widely seen as being lazy in his lifetime and people could not understand his daily habit of walking, which they thought purposeless.

    He wrote:

I exist as I am, that is enough, If no other in the world be aware I sit content, And if each and all be aware I sit content.

One world is aware and by far the largest to me, and that is myself, And whether I come to my own to-day or in ten thousand or ten million years, I can cheerfully take it now, or with equal cheerfulness I can wait.

My foothold is tenon'd and mortis'd in granite, I laugh at what you call dissolution, And I know the amplitude of time.

    -from "Song of Myself"

    Be well,
