Mob Injustice and Addressing Dissent

On Friday 17th August, Citizens for Justice and Peace @cjpindia conducted a tweetchat on Mob Injustice and Addressing Dissent .

The chat began by first asking the audience for their views on the reasons for the recent spike in lynching incidents across India and what could be done to stop them. The audience shared their thoughts on why it is important to #FightTheMob and what they could do in their capacity as individual citizens to #FightTheMob. The curator asked the participants about the consequences to dissenters being silenced in India and whether hate crimes are being legitimised today. The chat ended by stressing on the importance of expressing dissent in a healthy and legal way and ways to safeguard one’s right to dissent.
