Men as Allies

On 23rd November 2018, Equal Communities Foundation @ecfindiaconducted a tweetchat on the topic ‘Men as Allies’ along with panelists @Promundo_US, @Go_Pauli,@TheGenderLab, @Madhumita_India and@willmuirnow.

The chat began by asking the panelists their views on what it meant to think of men and boys as allies and not perpetrators and why one should engage with men and boys in the conversation on gender equality. It then went on to ask the panelists as well as the audience for suggestions on how each person can do their bit to raise boys to be gender equitable adults. The panelists shared their thoughts on the role that men can play in the #MeToo movement. The chat ended by asking the panelists to share simple tips that men could use to assess whether they were gender equitable or not.
