A few things about me ....

I am still finding my way around PulseWire and have really enjoyed reading other's journal entries. It seemed time that I post my first entry. In this entry I though I would take a moment to share a bit more about myself.

I am very interested in the arts - plays, film, photographs, painting, really all types of art. I am not an artist, but I find energy and inspiration in art. I love the that someone took time to create and that they also want to share their creation. I also believe that art can be a powerful tool to bring people together, educate one another, share thoughts and feelings and can help to build stronger communities. I would love to be able to work using art as a tool to educate, empower or otherwise support women. I am also working on my thesis for my masters in Sociology on the topic of art and community development.

I am passionate about working to support women. I believe being raised in a household of women allowed me to see at a young age all that women are capable of. My Mother raised my sister and I while she also cared for her aging Mother, my Grandmother. We were very poor but my Mother always managed to stretch what little we had. My Mother and Grandmother raised me to be strong and independent, and to always recognize the strength of other women.

I found my way to PulseWire through a friend who though that my interest in women's issues, travel and art were reflected in the mission of World Pulse Magazine.

I also love to meet new people! I hope to connect with and build relationships with many of you here!
