About Me:
Salma Ismail, age 25, date of birth 15th June 1983, got Master Degree in Economics from Institute of Development Studies- Agricultural University of NWFP Peshawar (Pakistan) in 2006, Major Subjects: Micro Economics, Macro Economics, Development Economics, Environmental Economics, Monetary Economics, Econometrics Project Planning, Research Methodology, Mathematics, Statistics. Graduation in Economics, Statistics and English from University of Peshawar in 2003. Sociology as Additional Subject from Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad. Founder member of CRY (Coalition on Rights and Responsibilities of Youth) a network of young people registered with Social Welfare Department Government of NWFP, Pakistan. worked with CRY since January 2003 in free time during studies as a volunteer, in organizing youth groups and awareness raising programs regarding Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS. After completing study joined the Organization as Program Officer in a Project on HIV/AIDS funded by TIDE Foundation USA under Collaborative Fund for South Asia Program. Joined UNFPA New York as a Special Youth Fellow with effect from June 19, 2006 to December 19, 2006 and continued with UNFPA Islamabad with effect from January 12, 2007 to March 15, 2007. Worked as Project Assistant Youth with UNFPA Islamabad with effect from March 16, to May 31, 2007. Attended International Human Rights Training Program in Montreal Canada (10-29 June 2007). Participated in
i. RHIYA (Reproductive Health Initiatives for Young People in Asia) closing Ceremony held in Bangkok (6-8 February 2007).
ii. International House Alumni meeting New Delhi India (20-25 March 2007).
iii. 8th ICAAP Conference Colombo Sri Lanka (16-23 August, 2007) and presented Poster on “Role of Youth Organizations in HIV/AIDS Prevention).
iv. South Asian Regional Linking and Learning Program on Human Rights Based Development, held in Mumbai India from 28 April – 03 May 2008
v. 'Multimedia Local Content Production for ICT4D Training Workshop' held in Nepal from 22 – 29 September, 2008, organized by PANOS South Asia
