Introducing... My Mama

Introducing my mother… Mrs. Norma Bautista Flores. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), an early retirement from Philippine National Bank as the Senior Assistant Manager at the Central Loans International Department since 1998 and a business woman. She is with BCBP or Brotherhood Christian Businessmen of Professionals. She is also with the Legion of Mary as a catechist or teaching young single mothers in Haven and teaching high school students in Caritas. And she is with a prayer of group with her friends.

Mama is one tough person because of her siblings. She is the eldest and she is a disciplinarian. When I was in grade school and high school, all my summers should be into lessons enrolled such as playing the piano and the organ, ballet, modern dancing, voice lessons, cooking lessons, swimming, bowling and playing golf. That is why I know how to manage my time.

She always wants me to do my best in everything that I do. I believe that Mother’s knows best. She is one unique mother that I know. Even my friends could see that. They rarely like her because of her attitude. I should know… she is my mama. Besides, we have plenty of bonding moments together especially when my grandmother or Nanay passed away last year. We love to travel around the Philippines and abroad. And in fairness to her, I love her. She is the only mother that I got. Parents are persons too. Imperfection is present. Now that I am aging gracefully and wiser, I could say that I do understand her. That is how she shows her love to me.

Hopefully that she approves of my boyfriend once I introduced him formally to her. I really need of her blessings because Raffy and I have plans to get married someday. Prayer is all I need.

As I have said on my previous article, cherish your parents, they are only here once in a lifetime.
