Web 2.0 global transformations have enlightened the whole world empowering women all over. The most inevitable evidence in women development in the last few years is the expansion and knowledge of web 2.0, the most invigorating facts about web 2.0 that excites me are that women are not discriminated on the basis of gender and everyone and anyone can share, write, read, learn, search and educate without any social exclusion and gender stereotypes barriers. This global influx of ICT is providing a platform opening a casement to the worlds for a woman, present in remotest parts of the globe. Web 2.0 is determining factor to innovation, invention, wealth creation and development.

Web 2.0 has created new way to socialize and interact with the world. Discuss the latest issues, play games, and share tips on shopping, fashion, beauty secrets, recipes, photos, videos, bookmarks, blogs, business etc. Most importantly it is about empowerment through information gathering and sharing for women. Women drive the Blogging phenomenon according to a research “36 million women participate in the bolgspehre weekly: 15 million publish at least once a week and 21 million read/comment weekly. Even more fascinating is that greater than 50 % of women blogs are reliable sources for information”

The web 2.0 is paving a way and escalating the global women empowerment movement. It has provided a direction and freedom to women. The potential of web 2.0 in distance education, spreading knowledge and nurturing economic growth in developed and developing country has been widely recognized.

Any one can report violence against women by using web 2.0 and the story can be announced before the print and electronic media can break it.

Web 2.0 is empowering me in countless ways In Quetta, Pakistan we do not have any institutions that can provide any latest journalistic tact’s, in my masters I was only taught the obsolete journalism course. By being a participant in pulse wire I will be the only one from my city getting this training and enhancing my journalistic abilities. On Saturday here in Quetta four female teachers were burned by acid attack and before any other media channel I posted it on my facebook wall. Now I am mailing NGOs and human rights to get help for the victims. I have also written a blog about it and I am trying to highlight the issue.

Spread the word out ladies and show the world that we can speak four ourselves and our helpless victimized sisters all around the world.
