VOF WEEK 3 (Hi, I am a blogger)

Sharing my thoughts with my friends from blogosphere was all I wanted to do, when I first heard about blogging. I learnt so many things about blogging from my techno savvy brother known for his blogs on gadgetophilia. As most of the popular blogsites root for providing technical information to boost its clientele, the blogsites appeared to me another marketing campaign while hobnobbing with the idea of shaping my newly germinated incoherent feelings (rather flashes of my experiences) into a structured opinion through my stories on blogsites. But, as the blogsites grew rapidly to bring some of the social websites into its fold by unraveling some personal stories, I enjoyed reading them. This media seemed to me more interactive and broad based as it brought forth opinion, comments and views on a published news. However, I was unsure about the impact of such personal stories, written with the view of highlighting some of the social issues on the available forum.
After my initiation into the world of bloggers, I scratch my head for ways to relive the moments in my writing. As I work in a rural area, accessing Internet is a major problem (a luxury! Even electricity is a far off thing.). Therefore, it is not always possible to get connected with my friends from blogosphere- reading their stories, comments, views that left me rather lonely. My working area is not deprived of serenity but illiteracy was the resounding note one can easily hear. Most of my writings emanate from the people I work with; mostly women- they are the mothers of my stories. While writing, somewhere back in my mind, little threads of doubt keep lurking in – am I portraying my area, the issues and experiences as they are? How I wished to share my views with women from my area, if only they could read my stories!
In commercial world, the popularity of a blogsite depends on the traffic it generates by flooding customers with information on up market technologies and news of recent events and so on. Today everyone wants news first, but what is served in our platter is equally significant. In a departure from the well-trodden path of popularity, my articles are craving for ways to accommodate first hand account of incidents and events as witnessed through the eyes of women with little or no education at all. But, at present we are not able to make the web log such broad based to capture their voice in their own language. At best, we can accommodate some of their video graphic presentation in our blog. In coming future, I would propose that instead of directing our energy and efforts towards making our blogs eye candy all our efforts should be focused on creating blogsites more language friendly as well as user friendly and more interactive through increasing interfacing options. Until then I will be their voice and I will try my best to speak in the universal language i.e. is the language of heart.
