Letter to my Mentor Dorothy

Dear Dorothy,
First, thank you for your generosity. I have never had an official mentor before and I am so excited about the experience ahead. I am deeply grateful for this unique opportunity of being supported at a critical time of my life when I will be fighting an uphill battle to sustain the WAVE project that I founded over a year ago.
Speaking of WAVE, I would like to take this first opportunity to invite you to visit our website at www.waveindia.org and watch one or more of our videos when you get the chance. I have put an average of 10 hours per day all days of the week since we began operations last September; and I would like to think our website demonstrates this effort and gives you an overview of the project that I am devoted to.
It gives me great pride that I have been able to culminate my life’s experiences so far into this project and am glad that I now have your guidance to smooth my rough edges and achieve more. I am also looking forward to communicating the rich stories of the incredible young women in our network better, through the Voices of our Future training program.
I already felt encouraged by the words in your letter, and completely agree that the next few years are critical for how we choose to live in relationship with our fellow humans, because they will determine the future of our planet. It feels so wonderful to be validated by a mentor like yourself and I hope I can live up to your expectations and repay your kindness somehow. Warmly,
Sapna.
