The Power of Enlightenment

It is said in my faith that knowing the truth sets one free and i have found this to be true in development work.

To see real change in our communities, we must \"arm\" women with the truth about their situations. We must tell them it is Government's duties to provide good education and hospitals. We must tell them about the documents and agreements their countries ratify. We must enlighten them about helpful health practices and get them informed about their rights. We must tell them that if demand good governance consistently, they will get it. We must tell them the things they need to know to make for a better quality of life for themselves and their families.

Only an informed person can make choices. What happens when she doesn't know she has choices because she has been told by the society that \"this\" and \"that\" are her roles and she will never have any opportunity to go beyond a certain stage.I am persuaded that with increased enlightenment and participation by women in multi-sectorally, we can bring about change.

This platform is a great way for women to express themselves and learn so much more and i hope that many more join up and participate.
