Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
I was born in Cleveland Ohio, but grew up mostly in Southeastern Connecticut. I am from an great family- amazing parents, and two awesome brothers. Recently I graduated from the University of Wisconsin in December 2010. During my junior year I spent a semester abroad in Kenya, and loved it so much that I decided to return after I completed school. Now I work for ZanaAfrica in Nairobi as a PR and Communications intern. ZanaAfrica mentors youth in Kibera- the second biggest slum in Africa, and distributes sanitary pads to girls so they do not miss school each month. I was attracted to Voices of Our Future for the same reasons I joined ZanaAfrica- both believe in the power of women and are working to release their enormous potential onto the global community.

My Passions:
Music (all kinds), reading, making friends

My Challenges:
organization!!

My Vision for the Future:
peace

My Areas of Expertise:
African American History
