A Step toward Empowerment

Web 2.0 is a way to link with people in different countries. That is the main thing which excites me the most. I can listen to stories of different people from different corner of the world. I do not know what problem a woman can face in a place in Africa or America because my culture is different from theirs. Maybe it is beyond my imagination what levels of discrimination a woman face in a continent in Europe. Women from different cultural background, ethnicity, nationality, and religion comes together to share their experiences in Web 2.0. Not only learning about others’ stories, but also making friends with women in the different corner of the world seems amazing to me.
Learning stories from others help me in many different ways. It helps me to analyze the issues that women are facing and find out the solutions to this. It helps me to think further about gender equality and humanity. Web 2.0 helps me to know in what part of the world women are being treated as human, but not as an inferior creature to men. This helps me to give my helping hands to other women in this world.
Web 2.0 is a step towards solving those issues which are making women’s lives complicated throughout the world
Web 2.0 will also be empowering for me because I am going to communicate with all the women from different corners through this. I will learn about them. I will share my opinions with them. This will make me realize my own position in the world as a woman. It will make me think in a collective way. I used to think only about myself. I used to think only about my problems, but it will make me think about others as well. Each and everyone’s life experience is valuable in one way or another. Therefore, I think through learning about others’ lives I will find it easy to have solutions for all the problems. Web 2.0 is a step forward to bring a change I guess. Change will not only come by writing, I believe, but through my writing I am pointing to the issues that women are facing throughout the world which is a kind of leadership. Not only me, but also each and every women who are posting their writings are leaders in fact.
