Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
I live in San Diego. I was a paralegal in my last work position. I am Indian and I migrated to the US in 1983. I have lived in New Jersey, Florida and now thrilled with California. I left San Diego in 2006 to come to India to take care of my elderly parents. My parents have now passed on to the permanent world and I am now back in San Diego to devote more time to me and my immediate family.

I feel very strongly about women's issues. But I also think that the very young [as in babies and children] and the very old are very vulnerable. It is just a new realization that has dawned on me - every where I go I am hit by this vulnerability. I see that the infrastructure to deal with this vulnerability is needed but ineffective worldwide. To help the elderly, even to chat with them and give them a listening ear gives me a sense of joy and I am pondering more and more on how to do this more on a regular basis. One day it is you, but the next day, won't it be my turn to be vulnerable?
