Introducing myself and my journal: Musings from my life

Story
About Me:
I have been a journalist for over a decade.
In the last seven years, I have been keen on writing about development and environmental issues.
I have written various stories on agriculture, travel, birds, climate change, conservation, water, to name some.
The thought more came from a thinking since childhood on how the world would be if there were no forests or nature.
I love bird watching and it gives me a lot of peace of mind and happiness. I have penned a small book on watching birds in backyard and I hope and wish enthusiastic bird lovers would do this as well!
I also collaborate and network with a host of people interested in reaching out to create awareness and education on environment to children. I engaged in an environmental awareness and education programme in 2013 with Sanctuary Asia by screening a film Save our Sholas to 11,000 school children across 19 schools in Chennai. I also took the children for an education programme to the Madras Crocodile Bank.
In 2013, I was a South Asia Climate Change Reporting Fellow of the DW Akademie, Germany.
This year, in 2014, I was one of the participants who attended the journalists workshop on water and energy at UN University Tokyo.
I have travelled a lot to rural India to witness how technology is impacting a change in the lives of people, not just economically, but socially as well.
I love writing stories that are more on the ground community than higher level policy planning.
I love writing and dabble in creative writing. I have published a few short stories and travel stories in books.
