What does Meaningful Participation mean?

On October 31st it will be 18 years since the adoption of this ground-breaking resolution. 



Currently a number of feminist and civil society networks are in Ne York for the annual UN Security Council Open Debate.



As the \"1325\" team of the Global Partnership for the Prevention of  Armed Conflict (GPPAC) we have been discussing what does Meaningful Participation really mean to us?



Here's what some of my #1325sisters say:  



\"When women can safely share early warning information with a gender inclusive community, national and regional system, which ensures their concerns addressed\"



\"We need feminist media information and communication platforms to produce & distribute our content that promotes women's leadership\"



\"We don't just want to be on the WPS menu. We don't just want to be invited to the table. We need the table designed and determine each course (on the menu)\"



\"I should be able to speak up on my experience, to get information, have a safe space to meet\"



\"It's enabling women to have hope and have hope for their children”
