Change does begin with a story

Change starts with a story.  Each woman has a story.  Her voice speaks, not only to others, but mostly to herself.  It tells of her past, her present and her future.  It drives, controls and defines her.  More than that, it inspires and challenges other women in the same circumstances.  It gives options and possibilities where none existed before.  Hope is born where none existed before.  Women become inspired to make that story their story.  When that happens, their lives are transformed and they are empowered.  Lives change, families alter, cultures evolve.  One woman’s story can alter a whole community, and eventually the world.  The more women’s stories are shared, the more women are changed.  The more women change, the more the world is transformed.  In order to effect change in the world, the story of each woman needs to be shared.  Not just the successes either.  Their fears, failures and generic feelings are as important as their triumphs and conquests.  No woman’s experience is insignificant, because their story can be the trigger for another woman’s world shifting change.
