Tell Your Story, Tell your Truth!

As a woman and an advocate too many times we live in shame and denial about situations and life experiences, we are still fearful to be free and talk about the things which affect us, for various reasons be it social standing, class, educational background or even just preservation of self and how others may look at us.
I have always said If there is nothing in me to be ashamed off then why should I be ashamed or allow others to make me feel ashamed. Shame comes in when we have done something immoral, wrong or corrupted ourselves. When others violate us and corrupt us then why should we be ashamed to tell our stories of fear, pain, violence and silence?
Tell your story, tell your truth, your story may be the only thing giving hope to another human being to tell their story.
