Our Voices combined with Action, the Reflections of a former Community Champion.

It is really heart warming to see so many new faces within this group and I take this opportunity to welcome all new members. I was honored to serve as a Community Champion for this group. Being exposed to the role of a community champion was a fulfilling one, I grew in areas of my life which I did not expect, I gained insight into diversity and cultural competencies and I also understood the meaning of determination and sacrifice.

To the incoming Community Champions know that you were chosen for a purpose, know that your voice alone is not enough as action in motion is needed, do not be too hard on yourself if there is not much engagement within the group and learn and grow every step of the way.

Never be afraid to reach out and ask for support and help. World Pulse has a wonderful staff which is very accommodating, professional, and caring feel free to also reach out to former champions.

We are all in this together and do have fun, enjoy what you have been chosen to do, make the time to communicate with colleagues, and try your best to make the group engaging and interactive. I look with great anticipation to take part and be involved in the wonderful work ahead.
