lets run together!

The Woman’s Hope Trust was registered with the aim of empowering women for success and ensuring they live their dreams in all spheres of life.

In our mission of reaching out to women, we support charity runs and visit the less fortunate in the society. We also partner and support other groups which have the same vision. Last year, we joined The Kigumo Vision Association during a fundraising to support the needy children with education through the invite of the area Member of Parliament.Hon Jamleck Kamau.

During this benevolent occasion we got to know of Dochas Nasamu Children’s Home in Kangari village, Kigumo Constituency, a home to Forty Nine Orphans between the ages of four to eighteen. On 25th December 2008, we organized a group of friends and family members to visit the orphans. We truly realized the power of sharing and the satisfaction in giving. During Orientation we noted various needs with the children. The Director requested if we could contribute in anyway and promised to consider his request particularly the need for a dining hall.
A story of a form two girl –Muthoni- who got a baby as a result of a rape ordeal from her father caught our attention. To find out more, we visited her during the December holidays. A jovial girl is to say less of her, who despite her torments couldn’t hide the love she has for her two year old baby.
What was more astonishing is that, despite going through the bitter ordeal she topped Kigumo division in 2006 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination. Her zeal to be the best has not stopped as she tops her class at Ruchu Girl’s Secondary School. Her greatest challenge is the poverty her family is exposed to.
Muthoni’s mother now widowed, suffered several rape ordeals from her husband which left her mentally challenged. She has 9 children the last born being the same age with Muthoni’s son. The husband died in the year 2007 leaving only bitter memories behind and a heap of predicaments. The family shares a two roomed house and getting a day’s meal is a challenge.
Woman’s Hope Trust has taken the initiative to make a difference in Muthoni’s family not forgetting Dochas Nasamu Children’s Home. To achieve this, three of our representatives will take part in Kilimanjaro Marathon 42km in Moshi on 1st March 2009 and The Two Oceans 56km in Cape Town on 10th April 2009 to raise funds for the two projects.
We are targeting to raise Kshs.1.5 million to cater for both dining hall and Muthoni’s family house. By sponsoring us, you will attest your GREATHEART for the less fortunate in the society
