Our Committment for Social & Economic Empowerment of Women

We as DISHA are working for women empowerment through building self help groups at village levels. Presently we have number of  groups and we are working in  Maval Taluka and Mulshi Taluka of Pune district, Maharashtra State, India.

We have leadership development program for our self help group members and women groups from rural communities. We are organizing regular capacity building programs for women on gender, leadership, legal rights, banking and saving, health awareness and so on. We are also conducting health camps and support group meetings for women.

Through our Income Generation Program,  we are conducting vocational training programs as well as creating market for agricultural products, hand made products and so on. Local community members and voluntary groups are also helping us to develop business unit.

Group members have learned number of vocational skills and now they are working together for economic security of own family as well as community. Some groups are stitching quilts, bags and other products as per the order and need. We are in process to start business development unit for our group members. We have confidence that sustainable livelihood will bring positive change in  social, economic and health status of women and their families.
