Introducing myself and my journal: Applied Anthropologist to Accidental IT entrepreneur

About Me:
I am an owner and co-founder of two IT startups, as well as a mom, wife, neighbor and dog owner.

I am passionate about using ICTs for international development, and empowering women through technology. My particular IT interests are in using open data to build mobile and web apps, the "business side" of IT, and measuring effectiveness and sustainability. In international development, I have particular experience working with USAID, many non-profits, NGOs and consulting firms, as well as am a huge advocate for the use of small businesses in foreign assistance. I love to mentor young people and talk about work policies that empower and engage non-traditional employees.

My Passions:
ICT4D, ICTs and Gender, Open Data

My Challenges:
Too much to do, not enough time, money or energy

My Vision for the Future:
Equality of access, equality of usage, equality of ownership.

My Areas of Expertise:
Small business and entrepreneurship, USAID, gender and IT.
