The Interview Experience

  1. Were you nervous before your interview? If so, tell us how you overcame your fears. If not, tell us the source of your confidence.

Thankfully, I was not nervous before the interview, but I did feel rather poorly because I had been ill. Interestingly, I think being ill forced me to remain calm and mellow. As soon as Bukky arrived for the interview, I explained to her that I was not feeling well. I told her I would like to proceed with the interview in order to honor her time, and she was wonderful and understanding about it.

  1. What did you do really well during your interview?

I think I did a good job of maintaining the dialogue with Bukky. Our conversation flowed naturally.

  1. What do you want to work on improving for next time?
Next time, I'd like to do a better job of redirecting the conversation when we begin to digress. During my interview with Bukky, there were times we would stray off the subject/question I had raised, and it would be difficult to reconnect back with the original train of thought.

Overall, I'd say the interview experience was enriching. I enjoyed learning about Bukky's work and I believe both she and I came away having formed a bond.
