Today, I got yet another reminder in my inbox - \"No one speaks for me. I speak for myself \". That prompted me or rather made me realize the need to share the fact that I belong to that small miniscule set of women who are privileged to get easy access to the web. I'm indeed grateful, that my family and job helps support and encourages me to get a stronger hold on the subject.
Being into teaching and heading -The Center for Equal Opportunity Cell in our college,my student Errol de Menezez and I decided to open our own Facebook page, where different issues of the women and children could be shared. And thus 24/2/14 proved to be an important day indeed a turning point for us and a lot many students, teachers and the general public . It was the birth date of our FB account- 'Some wounds don't heal- some hearts do'. The link being https://www.facebook.com/pages/Some-Wounds-Dont-Heal-some-hearts-do.
What is interesting was the enthusiasm of this boy which was infectious. And in a very short span of time we had over 200 likes. We attempted to make time to upload pictures, quotes, incidents happening primarily in the campus, locality and anywhere else that could motivate, guide and boost the spirit of women and youngsters to brave all challenges and move on. We also roped in the college counsellers on board, because we now had our inbox brimming with queries where input from experts would help many a souls. We look forward to encouraging more students in general and girls in particular to avail this platform to voice for -No one speaks for me. I speak for myself holds true...
