Introducing myself and my journal: Transform Lives, Change of Communication Strategy is inevitable

About Me:
My name is Sophie, a Kenyan citizen who wears many hats but has a pulse that connects the many hats into my One heart. I am a feminist, I am a women rights activist, a poet, an actor, a grassroots leader, a community mobilizer, a social worker...yes, i am all those, and they are the many hats i am talking about, but the pulse is my passion and calling to transforming the lives of women through many ways and activities is my inner calling.I coordinate 4 different groups or rather organizations, the first one is the 5 Centuries Human Rights Theatre Group (5Cs) that is a women led human rights group that does progressive theatre for social transformation and we work largely with communities at the grassroots level and the Civil society organizations in Kenya and some parts of the world. This i have done since December 1995 to date.
I also coordinate the World March of Women -Kenyan chapter. WMW is an international feminist action movement connecting grassroots groups, individuals and organizations working to eliminate the causes at the root of poverty and violence against women. Our values and actions are directed at making political, economic and social change, while they center on the globalization of solidarity.I have been the National coordinator since January 2007 to date, and recently, September 2013, I was elected to represent the Anglophone Africa region in the International Council of the movement.

Thirdly, I have been the Kenyan coordinator for the newly created Women Artists Holiday that is celebrated every last Saturday of the month of March which is women's history month. SWAN day (Support Women Artists Now) is an International celebration that is on its 7th year already, and i have been successfully organizing the events in the country.

Last but not least, in synergistic collaboration with friends from Scotland in the UK, we have founded Mamma Africa Community Centre in the rural village in Kendu Bay - Homa Bay county, Kenya. Mamma Africa Community Centre (MAMI) 's mission is to empower African mothers of limited education and means to develop and realize their individual potentials as earners, care givers, decision makers, educators and community builders.I love making my journeys to the villages when i know i am going to interact with women on issues.
So the many hats, lead me to one thing, Women engagement for prosperity and life transformation.
