POWERFUL VOICES - (Part 2 ) "I am a Leader"

Stepping into the third week of the campaign " I AM A LEADER ", where we are celebrating voices of women leaders across the world, these voices have amplified many more and are outreaching to leaders across the world. The second phase of campaign is to send short videos or post pictures of self with a your own leadership statement.

Women have been predominant in every field of life, be it science, politics, arts or philosophy, yet there are millions who still are undermined and away from the basic needs of education and health.

Leaders like MarieClaire Kuja are taking initiatives and running mass movement in helping those out from every corner of the world to provide them with the necessities of life. Marie founded KujaPads Initiative, a campaign which empowers school girls in the North West region of Cameroon to stay on track in school and reach their full potential, rather than continuing to experience the shame attached to the old stigmas and myths about menses. By providing sanitary napkins and giving empowerment workshops on self-esteem building and menstrual hygiene management, KujaPads Initiative is aimed at encouraging women and girls to embrace menstruation with pride and regain their dignity andrespect.

Marie speaks, “I am also a writer of three bestselling books on empowerment and self-esteem building for women and a columnist for a New York based magazine where I write many articles on inspiration and empowerment. I am a motivational speaker and speak in numerous panels especially those devoted to the empowerment of women and girls.”

.A Development Practitioner and professional teacher, Rosemary Ntoipo, Founder and Executive Director of GEPaN an NGO in Tanzania who had a significant work experience in leadership at various levels shares, “I lead others out of fear, strengthen them to lead their own better destiny.”

Teachers, educators have a strong influence on young minds which are ready to get moulded to walk on the right path of success and prosperity. They have been motivating generations and providing students , the light of knowledge and learning through education. Educationists work in a noble profession and are leaders who create new leaders with their continuous support and guidance.

NIGHAT NAVAID proclaims, “I am a leader because I empower others. I see their potentials and polish them so that they can stand on their own two feet and feel proud about their abilities and skills.”Having worked for 26 glorious years as a Headmistress of a Primary School in Pakistan, made a difference in the lives of students, parents, teachers, support staff and fellow colleagues. I strongly believe in discovering the potentials of children and adults, polish them, motivate them and encourage them so that they can face the challenges of the 21st century with confidence.

VICTORIA KETTE, an educationist/nurse states, “ I am passionate about demystifying menstrual care in Africa. I am founder of AWEDP forum based in the USA and working in Cameroon. I empower women by education. I demystify traditions against women. I fight for the health rights of women and I am opening a center to achieve more than that goal.”

OUMUO TOURE speaks with her unique voice, “ I try to promote people their wisdom, their needs, realities. I always try to find solutions by enhancing their self esteem, and bring them together to give them the power of unity to act.”

The pen has always been mightier than the sword ,as it pierces thousands of readers with few words simultaneously and also carries the power to bring a change in the heart of humans with thought provoking shares. This makes women writers powerful leaders who have the capability of bringing the desired change in society through their works and articulations.

MEENAKSHI M SINGH , a writer, author, poet, actor, IT professional, mentor to creative writing students and a mother shared, “ I carved out my identity as a writer despite having no background, qualification and support. I dared to listen to my heart and my passion and perseverance is my biggest strength.”

She further says “I am a leader because I have the courage to tread a path of my heart, the world of pen. I am a leader who realized the inner power to empower. I teach, create value and happiness that is CreativeHappiness all around. My pen is my sword to cut down any limits and realize my unlimited potential and make others realize too.”

USHREE ROY ,a professional international development practitioner states “I am successful in touching many lives meaningfully. I believe in empowering women and so far successful in helping many women to take charge of their own future and also inspired them to support others. Together we all will definitely bridge all the gaps.”

LILIAN MUCHOKI ,co-founder and executive director of Sauti ya Jamii Programme, an NGO that advocates for good governance and equal rights for all, lives by Mother Teresa’s words: "I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples".

These are few of the women leaders whose voices we could share this week with millions of women . If you want your voice to reach others and if you feel your thoughts and efforts can motivate others, do share on this: http://goo.gl/forms/TRQao998wiDEBwKp1.
