Catching them young

I didn't set out to be a teacher. Never. Acting, Journalism, anything Media , was my passion. I eventually gained admission to University of Ibadan to study Theatre Arts , and my hatred increased. I visited Education department, I saw older women, few young ladies. People mocked them and gave them names. That drew me far from teaching.

Miracle do happen, people say. Yes, I believe. It happened during my Youth Service. I was posted to a polytechnic to teach. In few years, I was exposed to the challenges facing the youths beyond academics and at the end of that year, I have discovered that beyond, the classroom , the role of a teacher, goes beyond the classroom.

It is over thirty years in this noble field, I have taken a vow, empowered my self academically in this field, dedicate my life, resources, time, energy in building , impacting , supporting and loving these youths beyond the four walls of a school.  Nothing is a fulfilling and rewarding than catching them young !!!
