End Obstetric Fistula

What I'm Leading

Ending Obstetric Fistula by raising awareness through sensitisation campaigns in communities that lack maternal health care facilities. My intention is to set up a Non-governmental organisation through which programmes will be run. I plan to reach out to victims of fistula by working in collaboration with organisations/institutions that provide direct care services to rehabilitate girls and women suffering from obstetric fistula. I aim to improve gender equity in health, acknowledging that women’s rights to better health is one of the most direct and potent ways to achieve social justice and bring change to whole communities.

Who I'm Impacting

Girls and women in rural communities who are suffering from Obstetric Fistula.

About Me

I am a financial and information technology management administrator with over 12 years of experience in both the public, commercial and voluntary sectors.

My educational qualifications include a first degree in Journalism, a Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) in project management and finance, as well as certificates in Information Technology, in Leadership and Management (ILM) and the Voluntary Sector (EVSM)

Professionally I have a varied work experience that includes: starting up as a Journalist and moving on to IT & Financial management. I have owned and ran a retail business; worked as a systems’ test analyst with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Plc; worked as a database and accounting support analyst with Liberata Plc. (UK);

As a leader I have engaged in many community activities empowering women at different levels. I was on the board of governors with the African community centre in Wales, UK. I volunteered as an IT trainer teaching refugee women basic IT skills at different charity organisations in Cardiff, UK. I initiated, created and led the Cardiff Cameroonian women Association (CCWA) an organisation helping to intergrate new members into the community, breaking down cultural barriers and giving them a platform to channel their concerns. This group has grown today not only to include Cameroonian women in Cardiff but immigrant women across South Wales, UK

Most recently I worked as an IT finance administrative tax officer at the Revenue and Customs (HMRC) office of the United Kingdom. Currently studying CIMA – chartered institute of management accountant qualification at management level through distance learning.

In spite of my qualifications and experiences my passion has always been on humanitarian development work especially in the area of women economic empowerment activities. It is my wish that I will use the skills and knowledge that I have accomplished over the years to embark on a mission to achieve this vision, and what a better platform and time in life to start. I am here to network, mentor, learn and contribute to this great online community forum making sure that piecemeal by piecemeal our voices will be heard and impacts made.

I am a Cameroonian currently living in Addis Ababa - Ethiopia as a diplomatic spouse and looking forward to bringing you vibes from this end of the world.

Stay tuned.

My Vision

“When you empower a man, you empower an individual; when you empower a woman, you empower a nation” Therefore I envisage a world where every woman is empowered be it economically, politically, socially or otherwise.

What is important to me is to see this dream come true. That women will not relent their efforts, knowing that you can become what you want to be. That your progress can be delayed but can never be stopped. That as women we continue to encourage and inspire one another so that we can speak out in one strong voice.
