A Letter to My Dream Daughter

Though I have not touched you, My love for you knows no bounds.
One day you will be with me in this world and we will roam around.
Whether you are adopted or born out of my womb
I swear not to discriminate you on any ground.

I will tell you stories of my defiance and desperation.
I will share my strengths, sores and passions.
You will bear no surname to identify any caste.
You will be free to follow your path and learn from the past.

I want you to grow up as a free thinking individual
and be determined to rise from the ashes if you ever fall.
I wish to be your ally and a true companion
Life brings smiles and tears- let's champion.

I will encourage you to respect the human community
With our shared bonding, compassion, empathy and equanimity.

It's time to glorify all daughters around the globe
Who are equally precious even if they lie on the dust without robe
Wild flowers blossom in the fields and yet have such splendour
Why do you distinguish them by colour, caste, religion, riches and gender?
