And Fall said "Write with your Heart"

Today, there it was, Fall right in my face. Not walking down the windy streets of New York, Not on the almost bare trees or on the sidewalk on the fallen leaves. Fall was on stage. It was shades of red, burgandy, orange and blue, It was shades of golden hearts and tears yet to fall. Fall was in the room, in the scent of a women empowered.
Fall was a women today and she was Bolivia, Nepal and the Philippines. She sang about broken hearts, of war and poverty and we danced.

We dance all the way into her heart into her eyes and saw her story. She opened up her home to us and let us see her pain, her struggle, her fight but she didnt let us cry in fact she did not want us to cry instead she invited us to dream. To dream of another world for her , her daughter , her family. She reminded us that anything is possible.

Today Fall was my friend, I saw myself in her eyes and although she didnt know me and I didnt know her our spirits had met before. This time we wanted to remember so we threw pictures and hugged as if we had known eacother forever. And when I asked her what advice she had for me , she said whatever you do "write from your heart". She said I was beautiful, sh eloved my earrings, she said my writing took women to another world.

Thankyou Fall I needed to see myself today becuase I was getting lost in leaves falling from the trees, the winds of change where taking me away from me and reminding me that soon darkness would come and take over me. Today, I was reminded to dream in the mist of the darkeness, to love , to create family, to fight!

Today, I saw Fall with my heart. It wasnt about death so much as it was about rebirth. It was about forgiveness, not critiquing or judging a culture or a people. It was about creating another type of women, one with voice, with passion, with options, a visible women, at the forefront, saying enough is enough--Ya Basta! Tomorrow is going to be a different day becuase I said so.

So, with an open heart, I reclaim this Fall for you and for me. And as you travel back home and feel the wieght of the world on your shoulders, excited but wondering whats next , what now?, remember that today you touched someone. Today, is a different day becuae you said so!
