IN TRANSFORMING THE WORLD INSIDE OUT - LOVE TO ALL MANKIND ESPECIALLY THE POOR

My personal life as a Volunteer in Community Social Work for over 16yrs, The long experience have made me able to transform my World around me on the inside and the ouside.

Majority of my Community members live in extreme poverty, I visit them in the slums, The greatest of all approach is \"love\" when communicating with the sick, hungry, the disabled, the Older persons, Orphans, the Gender Based Violence Cases.

I have learned to listen to them attentively with a smile meaning you value them. So, i try my best to solve their problems/needs by giving them hope encouraging them.

Am a Catholic a Commissioner of Justice and Peace.

The poor in my Community I introduce them to our Father in Charge they are given food on Wednesdays. Occassionally, When Well Wishers/parishioners bring Clothes they don't need to the Church. The Father calls me to distribute to all regardless of their religious affliate, As Mother Teresa of Calcutta taught us to \" Make us worthy, LORD to serve our fellow men and women throughout the World who lin and die in poverty and hunger\" give them throu our hands thid day their daily bread and by our understanding love give Peace and Joy.

The Gender Based Violence cases: The battered women, Raped , Sodomy cases. There is an Organisation based in Kenya known as MSF - France. Majority of them have my Mobile No. so when they are referred to me, I have the Emergency MSF No. I call their Ambulance and within a short time they take the victim to their Clinic. They are given free Medical Treatment. Majority of them cannot afford to pay for medication, so tjey appreciiate so much.

The Older persons; IOver the years I have been visiting them. Some have relatives but they are jobless very poor to afford three meals or one per day is a dream You find some seriously sick, others no food.

The Government of Kenya has a Program of the most vulnerable of the Older Persons. They are given Cash at the end of every month Govt, Officers from the District Office were introduced to me by the Area Administration Office/Chief. Am the one as a Volunteer who identifies the most needy/vulnerable cases in my CommuityI take them to where they live. They are Targetted and every month they are entitled to get cash they are issued with an ATM card. They are also entitled to a free Medical This also applies to Disabled PersonsThe Officers inform me on phone when they are supposed to get their money from the bank.

The Disabled Persons:Over the years, I have assisted them with information that have been of great help to them. I have Organised Seminars where they have learned of their Rights. That, they have a right to Education, Marriage, Employment etc.

There are also forms for persons with Disability, I get them for education from the National Council, also some more for business i.e Sewing Machines, Barber Kits, Salon Kits etc. So they are those who need Wheel chairs adults and children, Measurements are taken and they are made for them. White can for the blind etc. So majority of them appreciate so much

The Orphans and Vulnerable:Also get the Cash but medication not yet.

Women and Yoiuth 18- 25 yrs - Imanaged to go through the INTEL Training 2014 with the World Pulse Facilitators/Directors Skype/online Immediately after I helped the Youth and Women for days. I forwarded their names to World Pulse. I was awarded a Certificate.

The mindset that helps me overcorme challenges is that I welcome my Community members regardless of their race or ethnic background. I love them all. JESUS reminds us in the Bible that ' the little you do to the least of this you have done it to me\" '

I appreciate the World Pulse for the Platform they have provided Community Leaders to transform our community being the voice of the Voiceless..
