Welcome to the family, G(irls) 20 Ambassadors!

...and here I am referring to two families, to be more precise.

One of them is the G(irls) 20 family. As you probably know, the Summit has been happening every year since 2010, and gathers 21 girls from very different parts of the world. I was lucky to be the Brazilian delegate at the very first G(irls) 20 Summit in 2010, in Canada. It was an unforgettable experience for me, as it was the first time I had the opportunity to share my dreams, hopes and experiences with like-minded girls from such diverse backgrounds. More than just fellow delegates, the girls became my friends, despite the distance between us. I hope it worked like that for you as well, and I hope we can use this community as a platform to strengthen the ties between us and keep in touch - perhaps using it to make the world a little smaller.

The other family is the World Pulse community. This website has been transforming the lives of women all around the globe, by allowing them to share their powerful stories - stories which often went unheard by mainstream media outlets. In addition, it allows any women from any region of the world to be part of a global community - to network, make friends, exchange resources and mainly exchange ideas. I am also a member of World Pulse since 2010, and it has opened many doors for me.

For instance, I was able to publish an article on unsafe abortion in Brazil at the World Pulse Digital Magazine, which gained quite a lot of visibility and allowed me to raise awareness on this issue. I also took part in an online training - offered every year by World Pulse - on web 2.0 and citizen journalism called \"Voices of Our Future\", which gave me the tools to report news from my community. Thanks to World Pulse, I was able to attend a presential training in New York at the Empowerment Institute, among many other things.

So I hope you are as excited as I am to keep this community lively and interesting. Feel free to post your thoughts on issues important to you and the women in your country - ideas, success stories, human rights violations, campaigns etc. You will see it is a very interactive community, and you are likely to get a lot of feedback from your posts, as well as getting in touch with many like-minded people. So I hope you will soon realize you are not alone in your struggle to make the world a better place for girls and women. Each of us here at World Pulse are giving our contribution to this cause, in our own special way -- and together we can do a lot!
