About Me

I am a woman with a passion for women empowerment.I am a journalist and have been a news reporter for five and half years.Through my work, I have met women whose voices are not heard as much as they would love to, and that has made me value access to information and the role it plays in the empowerment of women.Coming from a relatively small urban community, I have also come to appreciate the role of women in the media field, and how differently they report on women issues, compared to their male counterparts. The media usually leave out women sources of news, thereby leaving out important issues affecting women and those that require advocacy. In 2015,I co-founded an organisation called Girls Speak Out with my friends. Our organisations teaches young women and girls (18-24) coding skills, media literacy and skills, as well as advocacy. Although our organisation is still in budding age,we have already managed to touch lives of young women and girls through access to information and tech.
