Introducing myself and my journal: The Citizen Voice



About Me:
I am Thomas Zulu working as a Station Manager at Explorers FM radio in Petauke in the Eastern Province of Zambia. I have been in the position for the past three years. I am a journalist by profession and I have been working as a journalist for the past 12 years.



The radio station station I am working for serve a population of almost 400, 000. Most of them live in rural areas and are peasant farmers.



My Passions:
I have a passion for HIV/AIDS, Farming and Gender Issue. I am currently producing three weekly programmes: one on HIV and AIDS, one on farming and the other one on gender specifically looking at encouraging women to participate in governance issues at loc



My Challenges:
My main challenge in my work is getting the voice of the marginalised society in the area of my operation as most of them are situated far away (50kms) from where we operate from. This is compounded by lack of transport.



My Vision for the Future:
To see a vibrant generation of women in my area who will be to understand and voice out things that affect but offcourse supported by men and traditional leaders
