Organ Donation-best help of humanity

Is there a way to have another chance of life, to live even after death? Is that possible? I would say “yes”. The answer for this question is organ donation. Everybody in this world have their individual role to play and help others as we live in a society, where the bonding is very strong between each and every people. Whenever the word donation comes into our mind, most of us thinks that it, as a support for others in terms of money. It is common, but ORGAN DONATION is the most powerful and effective help in this world.

We do not like to waste the food that we eat? We do not waste our money for unwanted expenditures? We do not waste our time while we have an important task to do? If money, food and time are not be wasted, why should we waste our organs?

I feel, at times organ donation is the link between our life and death.  It accurately exemplifies the humanity in us. When a person is deprived of a needed organ, and when he gets it at the right time and his life is saved, there the humanity excels. Even if you donate million dollar to that person family, it doesn’t worth at all, but the organ donation will save the entire family and enhances their life.

According to a recent survey, 20 people per day die, waiting for an organ transplant. When an individual donate his full body organs after his death, it can save the life of eight people. A person who lives can donate partial liver, lungs and kidneys, it means it can at least save the life of three people. Still, approximately 5 lakh people die every year due to unavailability of organs.

Lack of proper awareness and education in organ donation may be the reason for this. People should be given proper knowledge on process of organ donation, superstitious beliefs on organ donation, misconceptions in the society about organ donation, proper counselling to take a vital decision and guidance in hospitals.

Another important thing in organ donation to be considered is the decision making role of the family members. Most of the family members, tell no to organ donation where they have to take decision on behalf of their relative who is going to die. They feel emotionally imbalanced at that time, where if they say YES to organ donation on behalf the dying victim, it can save others life. When proper awareness and decision taking counselling is given it can save most of the people’s life.

So my dear friends, do you need to “MAKE A DIFFERENCE” in others life even after your life time? Then lets “DONATE OUR ORGANS”.
