STRESS AND NATURE

Often we are bogged down with the problems of life and   the rush of our busy life. Often we don’t have time to sit down with our family or friends and talk about our problems. We are so caught up in work.  We get so stressed, that we often wish to stop work, to give up, or to do much worse things, because we have all emotions bottled up inside of us.   Have you ever thought of turning to nature?

Nature is a good comforter for us. She is our mother, the earth calls to us in our times of distress.   Sighted people say that they can enjoy nature by looking at it and most of us feel that nature can only be seen with our eyes. This is not entirely correct. We blind people can also   enjoy and relate to nature, we can feel and touch the mud, the soil, the plants feel their emotions, by touching each bud, each petal each flower. We can hear the waves of the sea, it give a tranquil and energetic and a soothing feeling. Even the wind is a calming force in times of anger. Often when I am angry, or sad, I go out stand in a balcony, or on the road or in a garden anywhere and feel the cool breeze on my face, it comforts me and I immediately forget my distress. If I happen to be near a water body, I dip my hands or feet, in it and let it sooth me. The trickling cool water is also a source of comfort.  Soothing sounds of the birds and the crickets too are a source of satisfaction and bliss, but now we often don’t register these things and are always on social media, finding out how many likes we got for each post and determining our worth based on this. We don’t sit down and have face to face conversations anymore. We should bring back those times, share feel people and feel nature and its eternal bliss, the energy each person has to offer.

Hi there lovely Tiffany,

How are you doing? I love your descriptions. I personally love listening to birds. I agree that people don't seem to have nearly as many face to face conversations any longer. They have their phones on at all times, even at night, I think, most times, but are they enjoying life and are they present; or are most of us going through the motions, not enjoying much of anything?!

I agree Tiffany! Just sitting under a train calms me down, and brings me into the present. Thank you for reminding me of this power that nature has.

Beautifully written! Mother nature is indeed a calming force we can all benefit from. And it would do us all some good to minimize the impact of technology in our lives in favor of spending time with our loved ones. Thank you for sharing these thoughts!

Oh my goodness! Thus is so awesome Tiffany.
I thought I was the only one who found great relief from nature, the tweeting sounds of the birds, the cricket sounds, most of all, the sound of water flowing and the sweet refreshing breeze from it. Truly, we need to drop the gadgets and go back to nature and humanity. It's high time we paid attention to one another. Objects should not replace nature and people.
Thanks for this piece! :-)

Hello Tiffany,
This post is filled with such passion, depth and truth. Too often due to our busy lives, we lose sight of the simple things of life. We miss the beauty of nature and the peace and tranquillity it brings. Many people have become absorbed with social media which has become a crutch for many for various factors. Learning to communicate face-to-face is a critical social interaction process which we all must find innovative ways to return to.

Hi Tiffany,
You are truly right about mother nature. I live far from any beaches but whenever I get a chance I go there and just sit and listen to the calming waves, they rejuvenate and uplift my spirits.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
