FAILURE IS NEVER FINAL

In 2011, I discovered the world pulse online community through information sent to me from a sister organization in Nigeria. This was at a time that I needed skills to interact with the social media and enhance the visibility of my organization and work. I joined the world pulse and participated in the 2011 Voices of our future and did not make the final selection. Though I did not make the final selection but I was determined to continue to be the voices of our future from my journal posts.

My personal vision of becoming the change that will catalyze the rebalancing of power relations between men and women for a harmonious and transformed society is still very much alive in me. With a renewed ambition I am engaging the 2013 VOF believing that failure at first attempt is not final. Becoming one of the voices of our future correspondent no doubt will strategically position me to be the voice for change for women. It will bring forth my personal vision for the future into existence.

I have come to realize that operating as a voice of our future correspondence from my journal post in the last 2 years is truly the journey to the voices of our future. In this journey, I have found strength and inner courage to overcome perennial failures. I have come to realize that journeys are laden with twists and bends which serve as fertilizers to speed up the journey to the future I want. My journal gives me the space to raise very salient issues which constitute barriers to women’s empowerment and equality and also connect me to women who can support and help bring to life my visions for the future. Together with world pulse we are shaping the world development agenda and creating a safe haven for women to blossom and enjoy their lives to the fullest with our voices.

Truly, for all of us on the world pulse our dreams and visions for the future are perfectly connected. Whether the issue is, domestic violence, maternal mortality, breast ironing, discrimination, poverty, the future we want is a world devoid of inequality and discrimination against women. The world pulse is enabling us to speak and secure the future that values and respect women and their leadership into reality.
