Posted October 14, 2010 from Nigeria

Activists working on child sexual abuse in Lagos State have put the plight of the Nigerian child in the picture again. The group has requested for the prosecution of pending offenders in the case of child sexual abuse and the exclusion of male teachers in the Nursery school staffing in Nigeria.

The male teachers’ exclusion according to Nike Adeyemi, the Director of Real Women Foundation, Lagos will help reduce the risk of exposure to the school children. Speaking recently at the office of the Lagos State deputy governor, Sarah Sosan the accompanying children told the public servant to help them stop the sexual violence against the Nigerian children. In her response, Sosan promised the children and the entire group her resolute support. She also stated that the Nigerian women need to be educated on the activities of the perpetrators.
