Denmark, May 28th2018 – Real Relief proudly announced today that Safepad™, a unique and innovatively designed product that offers a safe and infection-free experience to women during menstrual periods, won the Danish Design Award 2018 by the Danish Design Center in the category “Daily Life”. The winners were selected by a jury of 14 designers, company directors and other experts.
The timing of the award could not have been more appropriate since May 28this the International Menstrual Hygiene Day. SafepadTMand the Danish Design Award thereby leaving a significant contribution to the world wide focus to leave no girl behind #breakthesilence about menstruation.
The Danish Design Award jury says about Safepad™: “In many places around the world, myths and taboos surrounding menstruation have unfortunate consequences, sometimes making girls and women stay home from school or work during their period. One of the causes is lack of access to sanitary pads or proper sanitation. The reusable sanitary pad addresses this problem and offers a sterile and durable solution. An innovative product that prevents infections while also helping to prevent the social isolation of girls and women in third-world countries.”

About SafepadTM:
Safepad™ is a reusable, washable hygiene pad designed with a permanently bonded antimicrobial technology that efficiently reduces the concentration of fungi and bacteria. Thereby reducing the risk of vaginal infections caused by a.o. Candida albicans – also called Candiasis. 75% of all women experience vaginal yeast or bacterial infections during their lifetime. These infections cause health issues and in worst cases will impact fertility.
Safepad™ is made of a soft fabric, which provides protection and comfort. The permanent bonded
antimicrobial fabric in combination with the highly absorbent material provides a comfortable and hygienic
experience for women. The anti-microbial technology is based on a treatment that leaves a positively
charged layer on the fabric. This layer will attract and kill the negatively charged microbes such as bacteria
and fungi.
