MY DIGITAL ACTIVISM

Was in 2001 i heard about the word internet from my friend Neema Kisinga,when we were in form one (class twelve) .I asked myself what is this thing internet means?

Oooh gosh!! I used her deeply ,theoretically she was not aware but practically she did.She took me to the nearest internet cafe around town called PLANET 2000 at those times located at Miyomboni Street;She taught me on how to start operating it with the help of internet instructor and searching it that was the DAY i knew about the word internet and its meaning (Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard internet protocol suite (TCP/IP) to link several billion devices worldwide by en.m.Wikipedia.org/wiki/internet)

From that i had started to practice on how to use internet on my own during after class hours,opened an email account i.eigud86@yahoo.com and started to use it.

* Internet empowered me to accomplish some of first in scale of preference goals ,as follows:-

SOCIAL INTERACTION-From the day i have started to operate my active email account i have been able to contact and get a lot friends with email addresses.like foida,Helen,haruna ;both men and women./

JOINING HIGH SCHOOL IN 2005 (AT SHINYANGA COMMERCIAL INSTITUTE -SHYCOM) taking combination of ECA-Economics Commerce and Accounts;when i was in ordinary level was dreaming of going far to join high level studies ,through the use of internet helped me to search various materials ,study hard ,make a field report good ,understand different concepts and being able to pass my form four national examination and joined a high school.

WHERE I SAW THE RESULTS?-Without Internet I can not saw them but through browsing the MOEVT (Ministry of Education and Vocational Training website i.e www.moe.go.tz where i got div II and selected to join for high school.

JOINING UNIVERSITY IN 2008 (For my pursuing my 1st degree ) in Business Administration-as a lot can studied in the internet i used to browse,read and practice them.until i passed again and joined college for ma bachelor degree i.e www.Wikipedia.org,the free encyclopedia ,Amazoni e.t.c

SEARCHING FOR A JOB AND GOT IT-After pursuing my first degree i was after a job of my professional tried to search for a job into different websites like zoom Tanzania (www.zoomtanzania.com),kazibongo(kazibongo.blogspot.com),Ajirazetu (www.ajirazetu.com),Jobhouse(www.jobhouse.org) e.t.c

LUCKLY GOT A TEACHING JOB 2011 in one of the colleges in Iringa town called IREBUCO -Iringa Retco Business College (www.iretcollege.ac.tz )thought customer care and introduction to marketing for NTA level .I left there and started to work at The Highlands Secondary School as commercial subjects teacher.(Book keeping,Accounts,Commerce and Economics)

STARTING MY OWN FOUNDATION IN 2012 for promoting the lives of the poor young girls becoming mothers early and widows ,by saving a small part of my salary and lending to them with a small rate interest weekly ,internet helpes to simplify my office work,searching for donors to fund for my project and getting tips on how to operate a foundation through fundsfoNGOs (www.fundsforngos.com).

USING E BANKING like the use of Mpesa,Tigopesa,Airtelmoney ,Western Union and card less services in ATMS all over the country through that i can be able to receive,send money from/to anywhere in the world.

LOOKING FOR DONORS TO FINANCE MY PROPOSED PROJECT IDEA-currently internet help me to find for donors to help finance my project so as to reduce the poverty percent around the globe.

*YES, ON LINE EMPOWERMENT CAN LEAD TO OFFLINE EMPOWERMENT TO WOMEN BUT NOT IN A BIG INSTANT CAN REDUCE IT ESPECIALLY TO DEVELOPING COUNTRIES;BY:-

REACH A BIG NUMBER OF PEOPLE AT A TIME-By using internet like e-learning ,distant learning can reach a lot of people covering different places than offline empowerment. but still offline empowerment can be used especially in villages where network is unavailable.

WIDE COVERAGE IN ACQUIRING KNOWLEDGE-the knowledge acquired in using internet can be transformed into offline empowerment .

REDUCE PHYSICAL OBSTACLES in certain cultures like Gogo in Tanzania about circumcision as anyone can see can read about the effects and how bad circumcision is so reduce personal to personal conflict.

NO LIMITATION OF TIME as it is available for 24 hours you get it when you need it unless there is no network connection or network found.

REMOTENESS OF AREAS there are some places where on line empowerment can not be easy to apply then we have to transform into offline empowerment.

SAVES TIME AND ENERGY as for the case of shopping rather than moving from one shop to another some one can browse the types of products she needs and order them online so that saves time and energy.

I have experienced a lot in using internet

USING E-BANKING like the use of Mpesa,,Tigopesa,Airtelmoney ,Western Union,Fahari Huduma offered by CRDB Bank ,Telegraphic transfer and card less services in ATMS all over the country through that i can be able to receive,send money from/to anywhere in the world.A lot of girls and women empowered by getting employment in this e-banking agents.

PREACHING THE WORD OF GOD OR ALLAH like here in Tanzania ''MAMA MWAKATWALE'' a pastor use internet to preach the world of God.Others are TB JOSHUA in Nigeria etc.

ADVERTISING DIFFERENT CURES FOR DIFFERENT DISEASES.like diabetes,heart diseases as now days a lot of people go to India for heart cure internet saved them by giving information.

*DIGITAL EMPOWERING WOMEN IS IMPORTANT DUE TO THE FACT THAT:-

Transferring of information from one place to another i.e continent to continent like this of World women pulse campaign without internet even me can't had information about this campaign.

Gives employment to them through the use of e-banking like mpesa,tigopesa,airtelmoney ,operating internet cafe a lot of them have been employed to operate and others employed themselves.

Knowledge acquiring like reading different online books,e-learning resources,distant learning and getting different ideas from different peoples.

They can be able to do e -business as they can advertise their business in the internet ,order their purchase and have to sell to their clients.

Increase demand for their products as they can be able to find customers from different places around the globe through E-Marketing.

Self confidence can be emphasized as they can meet with different people from different places of the world as they can talk in front of others without any fear.

Security they could be able to save their data in their emails accounts like school certificates,asset owning documents.

Communication as they can be able to communicate with different people /women in all over the countries through using facebook,twiter,whatsapp,tango,viber,instagram e.t.c

No bureaucracy especially in online job application as there is no face to face contact between the employer and employee.
The word of God can be preached in the internet through them.

They can look for donors to finance their activities.

*DIGITAL EMPOWERMENT CAN HELP WOMEN TO TRANSFORM THE WORLD BY;-

Participating e-business,e-commerce,e-learning and be like men as they can be able to supply their products and them from others so economy of the world increase as they can pay tax also.

Employing themselves by opening e banking centers like mpesa,tigopesa,airtelmoney e.t.c,internet cafes.

Increase demand for their products as they can be able to find customers from different places around the globe.

Having Self confidence can be emphasized as they can meet with different people from different places of the world as they can talk in front of others without any fear.

Security they could be able to save their data in their emails accounts like school certificates,asset owning documents.

Communication as they can be able to communicate with different people /women in all over the countries through using facebook,twiter,whatsapp,tango,viber,instagram e.t.c

No bureaucracy especially in online job application as there is no face to face contact between the employer and employee.

They can preach the word of God in case of pastors or Christians and Allah in case of Muslims through using internet.
They can search for different diseases healing and cures.

* EXPERIENCE I HAVE GOT IN USING INTERNET

I have got a lot of experiences through using internet like downloading different application and set ups of different programs like antiviruses,media players,reading materials e.t.c

How to communicate with others by using whatsapp,tango,instagram,Facebook,twitter ,viber e.t.c. Ordering products online,looking for scholarships.

Adding more vocabularies through learning different languages either in English or other language.

Saving my documents using my email account,protect my computer by downloading antivirus.
I AM VERY PROUD OF BEING A WOMAN.
