Introducing myself and my journal: Yes We Care

About Me:
I´m a sociologist, researcher and teacher. I created a Gender Studies Center, in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1999, and the chair "Gender Sociology" in 2001 (the first one in Portugal, I suppose). My last research "Gender and Trade Unions in Portugal" is printed in portuguese language" Género nos Sindicatos. Igualdades, desigualdades e diferenças", Lisboa, 2009, MTSS.

I´m an activist for women rights for a long time. I participated, for instance, co-organizing the Lisboa demonstration for releasing Sakineh (August, 2009).

I write in collective blogs, political and cultural ones. I love writing.

I think that the world is suffering a neo-masculinisation at different levels, public, political, educational. I´ll fight for womens´rights with all my heart and strenght for years.

My Passions:
Music, People

My Challenges:
Fight against patriarchism

My Vision for the Future:
A little hope

My Areas of Expertise:
Gender Studies, sociology, psychology
