About Me:

~I am a dancer in heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit~

I was born in Punjab India and spent the first twelve years of my life there. Now i live in San Francisco, a beautiful city, full of spirit that nurtures your creative energies, and a place where i feel so at home.

I have always LOVED to dance. Dancing makes me feel so blissful and happy as if every part of my being is connected to the earth. Dancing is the one time when i know, there's a divine purpose to life. But like most people, it was something i never thought of as my life's calling. We are so trained to keep a seperation between our work and true passions; most of us never realize that what we seek or desire might already be a part of us. All the universe needs is a sign that you are ready, ready to make that leap and everything else will find its way to you.

Well i finally took that leap and rest is still unfolding. The universe inspired me and my best friend and partner in crime, Suman to combine our love for the arts, culture, community, dance & music and give birth to an incredible community we call, Dholrhythms. its our heart and soul's expression.

Its a dream come true to be able to share my love of dance with others. I now teach bhangra dance classes all over the SF bay area in addition to performing with my dance troupe as well as hosting one of the most legendary monthly events in San Francisco, NonStop Bhangra

In addition to sharing creative energy with an amazing community of artists, i get to teach dance to the most diverse group of people, from second graders to seniors. Everyday i meet someone new, learn something new, dance with someone new, what could be better! It has been an amazing path that continues to inspire me on a daily basis. Though my passion is not the only thing that defines me, it adds tremendous joy and happiness to my life. No words could ever express the gratitude i feel for having the opportunity to do what i love. The rest continues to unfold with the divine guidance of the universe as i marvel in its beauty and magic.

Welcome to PulseWire. What a joy it is to have your light here in our community. I hope many members read your inspirational words as I believe that so many wrestle with what they feel obliged to do, and what they really love. Often, circumstances seem to prevent us from following our passions but it only becomes this nagging voice that you eventually need to listen to, in order to be free. Some of our members have followed their passion for writing, supporting others around the world and tapping into humanitarian causes through connections here on PulseWire. It is a realization of our vision at World Pulse and we are so happy you are now a part of this community.

You can share your ideas and dreams by writing in your journal, reading other member's journals and offering comments, and joining groups to participate in the discussions. I would love to introduce you to three members who share your love of dance. Feel free to make friends with them by clicking on the "Add to my community" button under their profile image. I am sure they would be delighted to meet you. Anna Lag http://worldpulse.com/user/1783

Also, take a peek at our group directory (http://www.worldpulse.com/pulsewire/groups) where you may find a group with similar interests to your own. There is one group you might be interested in joining. Vividly Women is a group of women interested in dance as a path to peace, healing and prosperity of all women, all beings and the planet. They can be found at: http://www.worldpulsemagazine.com/pulsewire/groups/9592

Again, welcome and I know you'll find this to be a positive experience. Janice PulseWire Community Director

Hello Janice,

Thank you so much for your welcoming message. I was actually introduced to pulsewire through one of your intern's Erin Dhruva. She used to dance with me in my troupe some time ago. In fact she was one of my very first students. Its so amazing how everything in life comes full circle.

i am always inspired by being part of creative and positive communities, especially those empowering women to express themselves. This is a wonderful platform and i am so happy to be a part of it now and look forward to connecting with others.

Thank you again. And welcome to my friends circle as well.

Regards, Vicki V

I'm happy for you, for finding what moves you instead of going on a "secure path" in life. Your site looks lively too. Looking forward to any future posts. See you around. If, may I ask, how long have you been practicing Bhangra? Thank you.

thank you for taking the time to connect. ive actually been doing bhangra all of my life. i grew up in punjab, india which is where this dance is from. Its such a huge part of my culture, heritage, and family. I grew up in a family that loved the celebration so every gathering, we would end up dancing and singing. So ive just been around it all of my life.

Though i never would have imagine it would be something i was going to teach and make my life's work. Actually went to law school and became an attorney and then realized that dancing is what moves me and have been doing it since. :)

looking forward to becoming a part of this community. many thanks for writing. best, vicki

OK, I feel dumb now. I just sent you a friend request and asked how you found out about World Pulse - completely forgetting I sent you the link. Baby brain has taken over my life! :-) Anyway, so happy to see you on here. I am so in awe of your passion and drive to start and keep going Non-Stop Bhangra! I miss you and I miss dancing with you!

Much love, Erin

hey sweet lady,

you are going to live a long life. In India they say that if you think of someone and you hear from them, they are going to live a long life. :) i was just going to write you today. When you sent this email, i filed it in my to explore folder. ofcourse i totally forgot about it and came across it just couple of days ago again. its because i am ready for it now. Just lately i had been thinking about sharing everything we have experienced in the last 5 years, the journey, the amazing coincidences, OMG, could write a book. I started a blog a while ago called Your Discovery where i want to write about what i have learned and things that have made my life better. I just havent had as much time to work on it but i want to make time now. This is perfect, just found its way to me. So i decided to call my journal on here, Your Discovery so i can write on both.

The amazing thing you were the very first person that i taught this dance to. :) isnt that GReat. Unbelievable experiences. WE miss you too but i am so happy we are still connected.

i was going to find you on here and say thank you for sending that email to me. i can already feel good energy about this as i was meant to find it. Looking forward to sharing more writings.

Fill me in on any good communities and links to check. looking forward to exploring. :)

Big Hug ~vicki

Vicki, I was recently logged into my friend, Ivaldete's profile (comment above) because I was helping her navigate some features on Pulse Wire. That last comment was actually from the profile you see above this one:-) She, however, is a dancer as well and I will pass on your link to her as I am sure she would love to check it out! Jocelyn
