I believe that a positive development for girls and women is to provide them with an online platform to share their voices, to connect with their communities, and to support their businesses.

There is many examples to show the benefits of being digitally engaged ;

-A woman teaches young girls to blog so they can “share their thoughts to the whole world.”

-A teenage girl uses the internet to raise funds for NGO programs that benefit marginalized adolescent girls in developing countries.

-A female entrepreneur uses E-Business or E-commerce to showcase and promote her products.

Being digitally engaged connect girls and women to markets, helping them search for jobs, fostering entrepreneurship, and It would help reduce poverty by growing personal incomes and national economies, strengthen education for all, and promote gender equality.

And this is what WEBB Middle East is doing : " Creating an online platform that connect female entrepreneurs worldwide; Building Business...Bridging Culture" www.webb-middleeast.com www.webb-middleeast.org

Internet can be a tool used whether positively or negatively...just look at how some around the world are being recruited conveniently for certain agenda that the group has in mind, through social media so it really depends on the users.
