Physically I have never been physically abused. Mentally, emotionally.....Y E S ! BIG TIME!
Over time, I changed, improved. I am a new person. BUT: I know that even years later, under pressure those vulnerable pests come back, like the flu.
I had some post it notes taped to the wall in my kitchen to remind me, that even when we change, even years later, under stress and pressure, those same behaviors can come back. Not to stay. But to remind us of how far we have come and to test us.
I want to share mine with you. I KNOW they will touch someone in the World Pulse community:
1. Never bug or try to get someone to be in your life. IF you text, call, visit and still get ignored WALK AWAY. It's called SELF-RESPECT.
2. Don't swim across an ocean to do something for someone who would not jump across a puddle to do something for you.
3. Don't let people who don't matter too much, matter too much.
For those who are religious, "Maybe God didn't do it to you, maybe he did it FOR YOU." If you want better people in your life, you have to make space for them.
I've come a long way. I deserve a pat on the back. And so do you.
