Introducing myself and my journal: Commentaries and Poems from my Heart to Yours

About Me:
I love to be creative, to sing, to dance, to celebrate and to commiserate with sisters and brothers who are open to collaborating to make our world more sustainable, more inclusive. Writing is my primary tool. Although I had a first-class college education, I did not find my own voice, the courage to walk an uncharted path at that time. I broke my first male taboo in leaving a 20 year marriage, and moved to Oregon with my younger son. My second taboo-breakaway was choosing an open adoption when faced with an unplanned pregnancy when I was 42 and single. The poet within began to blossom and guide me through this difficult time. Lara and Meagan, identical twins, were born after a long labor with midwives, the adopting parents, and my 16 year old son present; we had to surrender to a C-section for a safe birth, The girls are now 26, thriving and facing life's challenges with confidence, grace, and courage.
With significant vision, health, and financial challenges, I have to be patient, self-disciplined, and willing to honor my body, not just the free spirit and questioning mind. It amazes and saddens me to have good friends die; many of my poems are about aging, and life's transitions we all face. I do feel fortunate we must have unseem forces giving us a helping hand, or I would not be here writing this to you!
