Women, Entrepreneurship, and Rebuilding War-torn Communities - Getting Involved

I'm preparing to participate in another event at the United States Institute of Peace next week. It will be an important discussion on May 23, 2011 between 2:30pm-4:00pm EST. While the event will be held at the USIP new building at
2301 Constitution Ave, NW, Washington, DC 20037, there is also the possibility of participating via webcast. I want to encourage all my PulseWire friends to join in....

Unfortunately, too many of you already know about how '...violent wars disrupt the social fabric of communities and impose severe limitations for women's economic access during and after conflict'.

How can women entrepreneurs help to reshape the business landscape to get your country back on its feet economically?
Maybe you already have some experience or ideas about this subject. Judging from some of your comments, I'm sure that is the case.

The panel participants in this event include:
- Gayle Tzemach Lemmon author of \"The Dressmaker of Khair Khana: Five Sisters, One Remarkable Family, and the Women Who Risked Everything to Keep them Safe.\"
- Patti Petesch will discuss her new USAID report, \"Women's Empowerment arising from Violent Conflict,\" which draws upon 125 women's life stories to examine factors shaping women's agency and local recovery processes in four conflict-affected countries.
