Globalization and You



I wanted to post today, on the anniversary of 9/11 to give importance of the role of World Pulse to hear the voices of women around the world. I will repost my final comments on a 10-week Coursera MOOC - GLOBALIZATION AND YOU that is just finishing up:



On the anniversary of 9/11 (which I was in Peshawar, Pakistan when the tragedy occurred in the US), I'm up early preparing to meet a guest speaker whom I helped to arrange to speak in my town http://www.worldaffairsinlandempire.org/#!program-purchase/c24fu



He is a director of a group based in Dubai, which are involved in trading, critical communications, security and transportation. He is a member of the Pakistan International Chamber of Commerce. Hopefully his remarks, especially about how young Afghans and Pakistani (as well as millions of others in south and central Asia) might move forward peacefully in our globalized world, along the new Silk Roads (these remarks) are vital for members of my community to be able to understand so we might support those efforts. Nowhere is that more important, as Angela has pointed out, than with organizations like World Pulse - http://worldpulse.com/ (an organization committed to lifting up the voices of women in the world today).



I hope this post will inspire people to get involved, with less than 500 days remaining before the end of the Millennium Development Challenge in 2015. To bring about the best outcomes possible against the 8 MDGs, it is absolutely critical that the empowerment of women to continue to build momentum...
