I am a Leader

For the last two months, I have had the opportunity to improve my digital communication and media literacy skills as a 2016 Voices of Our Future ( VOF) leader.Being a VOF leader, was an opportunity accorded to me not only to strengthen my offline leadership skills, but to enhance my online leadership skills.

In the 21st century, digital media and communication tools are the only tools that individuals can find themselves willingly or unwillingly in the spotlight, in the global sphere. As a leader who champions the well being of women, my role is to positively influence members of my community so that we can improve the overall situation of women and girls. World Pulse and social media platform such as facebook and twitter have enabled me to initiate conversations, contribute to discussions and share pictorial representations of the initiatives that I am working on or that I am part of.

Digital communication tools have not only provided me the opportunity to be in the spot light, but encouraged other amazing women leaders to join me in the spot light where they have been able to promote women's rights, foster gender equality and empower more women with socio-economic skills, knowledge and information.

As a leader in my community, I will use my spot light opportunity to inspire, transform and motivate the next generation of women leaders for the betterment of our society.
