Because I am a girl......

Salt curses, rags of unfriendly words....inviting but unpleasant
they looked down on me and walked all over the last pair of white clothes i had...
they said I was still a little girl,insecure and stupid
all they ever knew was bullying, mocking and teasing girls because they had to deal
with menstrual cycles and also avoid getting pregnant.....
the talk of town and the most funny issue around was a girl.....
who not only fell pregnant and dropped out of school,
a girl who had to feed her newborn baby and leave some for herself....
a girl whose life turned into a scary nightmare that she never seemed to forget
pain slowly succumbed to anger,regret,blame and poverty

She was only trying to show the world that being a girl
did not mean that, you got to suffer for eternity....
but it meant that when you fall you can pick yourself up and
resume your adventure....to success.
she was only trying to tell the world that, she...
she was different and unique.....that she would not accept failure nor let obstacles prevail
her from achieving her long life goal.....
as much as she knew where she was headed.....she did it because she was a girl.....who did for the girls and for me
