I worked for thirteen years in developing countries as a teacher trainer, program developer and director. As a Peace Corps volunteer in Sierra Leone, West Africa, I was a village based teacher trainer and a curriculum developer. Next, I worked in a refugee camp in Thailand as a teacher supervisor, trainer and curriculum developer preparing refugees for resettlement in the United States.
Being pregnant was by far the most blessed time of my life. My bliss was cut short when I discovered that my husband had been having an affair during my pregnancy and that he wanted a six month separation because I had gained too much weight during the pregnancy.
