Soon after my arrival in Fiji I was working with a team in a rural village when we heard a woman screaming. Presently, someone pointed and I saw her running through the trees, being chased by a man holding a large stick and shouting at her. I didn't understand Fijian, and turned to a woman behind me to find out what was happening.

The number three has turned out to be my lucky number in almost all aspects of my life. Little wonder that I am the third born in a family of six. I was born in a remote village in the Western part of Kenya. Those were the days when a woman was supposed to behave "womanly." She could be rated highly if she could dare not cross wrong paths (of men).
I have a passion for Africa and enjoy illustrating the everyday life and images of this part of my world.
